Deaf-friendly Therapy
We understand that English is not everyone's first language. For this reason, the key elements of our Privacy Practices and policies that we expect you to sign are spelled out clearly in American Sign Language.
An explanation of Privacy Practices
We take your privacy seriously. The information you share with us is personal, and we’re committed to keeping it safe. We maintain records of your care so we can provide you with the best possible support and meet legal requirements.
Your health information may be used or shared, your rights to access it, and our responsibility to protect it. We keep your information private and what steps we take to stay compliant with privacy laws like HIPAA.
If our privacy practices ever change, we’ll update this notice—available anytime in our office or right here on our website.

Telehealth Options
We use a secure video platform called SimplePractice to provide virtual sessions that are convenient, private, and easy to access—no passwords required.
The benefits are flexibility and accessibility and yet there are possible risks, such as technical issues or connection interruptions. You always have the option to stop or switch to another format if needed.
It’s important to know that SimplePractice provides the video service but does not offer emergency or medical care. If an emergency ever arises, please call 911 immediately. To keep your sessions confidential, your unique appointment link should never be shared with others.
By choosing telehealth, you confirm that you understand how it works, the limits of the technology, and that you’ve had a chance to ask any questions.

Therapy and Confidentiality
Our goal is to create a safe, respectful space where we can work together toward your growth and well-being. This helps us set clear expectations about how we’ll work together.
Everything you share in session is confidential, with only a few exceptions required by law—such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or cases of abuse or neglect involving children, elders, or dependent adults. Consultations with other professionals for supervision or support may occur, but your identity is not revealed.

Fee Agreement
Your time is important—and so is ours. If you ever need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed entirely, may be charged the full session fee since that time is reserved just for you.
A clinical hour is 50 minutes, but if you’d like to adjust your session length, we can discuss that ahead of time to make sure it’s scheduled properly.
Please note: there’s a $10 service charge for any returned checks. And if you arrive late, your session may need to end at the scheduled time so we can stay on track for other clients.

Personal Health Information (PHI)
You have important rights when it comes to your personal health information (PHI), and we want you to know exactly what they are.
You can ask us to limit how your information is used or shared. You can also ask for a paper or electronic copy of our privacy notice whenever you’d like.
